Timbre Composition Sketch Video Process:     For this project, I was playing around with the oscillators when I noticed that the sound of the high pitch frequencies was driving my cat insane. He was running all around looking for the noise. That gave me this idea to turn the oscillator synth into a little game with a cat and a chaser toy to emulate how my cat was reacting to the noise.

Reading about action games on the syllabus reminded me of a game that I like called Gunfire Reborn. Gunfire Reborn is a roguelite FPS game with co-op up to four players. I don't particularly like other games of it's genre but the impressive things to me about this game is it's execution. It has a unique and charming art style with a great soundtrack and interesting combat mechanics. The variety in play styles, weapons, enemies, & difficulty levels keep the game from becoming boring even after several runs. It gives you a leveling system so you have a reason to keep playing and a reward for doing well.

    Melody Composition Sketch Video Process:     For this project, I wanted to continue the trend of thinking about how to use non-traditional instruments in my work. I came across videos of how people use wine glasses to play songs and decided to create an emulator on the A major scale using wine glass pitches. I liked the clean, simple style of the first exercise that I did in this class so I adapted that for this project. The hardest part of this was finding the sound bytes to use because there aren't a lot of sound packs out there that have scales using wine glasses. I managed to find a youtube video with someone demonstrating the scale and chopped it up into individual sound clips, although it doesn't have the light mesmerizing sound you think of when you think of wine glass playing.
