Hypercinema Week #7

Concept: The setting for this is on a kid's desk, perhaps in a school or a bedroom. On the desk is this drawing of a dolphin. The dolphin will start to move and eventually "escape" from the portrait and be present in the "real" world. I was debating whether when it's in the real world to change it to a picture of a real dolphin, like it's becoming real by escaping the picture, or to leave it as a drawing. This project is to reflect on how a child might see their drawing and how imaginative they are. It's also to think about how we can bring things to life through art.  Storyboard:

Hypercinema Week #6

 Process:  For this project I wanted to try two different types of actions for the gifs. For one of them, I created a sequence of moving items, a "parade" of dice, to practice moving multiple objects across a screen. For the second gif, I wanted to animate a single object doing an action. I think they both came out okay despite the lighting not being ideal. I used my phone and a grip on the back that acts as a stand so that it would be stable. I then went through the shots and cleaned out the unnecessary ones. I know we were advised to work in the 12 frames/sec model so as to reduce effort, but I ended up with so many photos that I just went with the standard 24. Hypercinema Final Project

  Cornell Box Concept: An Ocean Floor Images:   Thoughts: Overall, I think it came together better than I expected thanks to miscellaneous interesting 3D models that I found. I think the biggest problem was my lack of C# knowledge. It limited the different types of animations I could do. For example, the two things that I was unable to implement was a satisfying way to animate the water texture and animating the light to turn off on mouse click. Other than that, I think this was a good learning experience for my first project in Unity.
